Spicy Shelf Giveaway

Alright, Sweeties, let's talk organizing.

Being a mom who's employed full-time, a wanna-be blogger, and volunteers several hours a week to youth groups leaves me very little time to clean/organize my home.

My medicine cabinet has called in sick.
I'm not even showing you the other half because it fell out when I opened the door.

My baking supplies are a hot mess.
Anyone who’s spent time searching cabinets for tiny spice jars or your little digital thermometer knows it can be frustrating!

It's the new solution that nearly doubles useable storage space while also making every spice in the cabinet easily visible. It's guaranteed to fit any size cupboard or pantry and there’s no complicated installation – simply use existing shelf pins or the included freestanding legs.

It was a snap to get my cabinets in order:
Woohoo!!

Now, it's your turn:
Spicy Shelf is giving my readers $5.00 off!
Go to https://www.spicyshelf.com/ and enter the promo code SPICE5
(that's a number 5, not an S).
SCORE!

OR . . .
WIN YOUR OWN!

Father's Day Dinner with The Miracle Grill Mat + GIVEAWAY!

*** GIVEAWAY CLOSED ***
I'm so excited to share this new discovery with you!
Just in time for Father's Day, I give you
The Miracle Grill Mat makes for perfect grilling every time. Here's the low-down:
  • Reduces flare-ups and burns
  • Reusable and easy to clean
  • 100% non-stick
  • Great for all foods, including tender fish, loose vegetables and more!
  • Food keeps the grill flavor and stays tender, juicy, and delicious!

Each package comes with 2 mats so you can grill all your favorites at once!

I decided to do one of my husband's favorites: Grilled Corn on the Cob.

Here's how we do it:
  1. Carefully peel back corn husk to the stalk. LEAVE IT INTACT; you'll need it. =)
  2. Remove silk and rinse in cold water.
  3. Slather with butter and add salt & pepper to taste.
  4. Refold husk around corn and grill!

I put The Miracle Grill Mat out and placed my corn on the cob evenly across it.

It smelled so good! You will need to turn the corn after 8 minutes for even cooking.

I've never done grilled veggies because, frankly, it scares me.
It just seems like it could be a huge mess!

Not with this baby!
First, I chopped up bell peppers, onions, zucchini, and potatoes.
Then I drizzled it with olive oil and sprinkled with basil, garlic salt, and fresh pepper.

I poured those little beauties right out on the Miracle Grill Mat without hesitation.

The corn was finished before the mixed veggies so I removed the corn, flipped The Mat, and threw on some steaks.
Everything turned out SO flavorful and delicious.
It was awesome! Plus, no messy clean up!
I just rinsed the mats with soap and water and they were ready to use again.

NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
I'm giving away 2 Miracle Grill Mats to 1 lucky sweetie.

All you have to do to enter is watch this clip:
then leave a comment telling me what you like best about it.
That's it! Suh-WEET!
Giveaway ends June 6, 2014.

My Sugar Blossoms readers get a discount at check out using the code

Popchips + Jillian Michaels = GIVEAWAY!

Welcome 2014!
It's been pretty quiet around here; time for some excitement!

ENTER: POPCHIPS.
This year Popchips wants to bring the fun to the new year with
NO RESOLUTIONS REQUIRED”.

Tell Popchips how you plan to "bring the fun (not the fat) to 2014"  and you could win!

The grand prize includes
  • round trip for two to Jillian Michaels "Maximize Your Life" tour
  • 1 year subscription to fitfusion
  • a full year supply of Popchips!
SWEET!!

Popchips & Jillian Michaels are a perfect team! "“Popchips are my go to afternoon snack. delicious and with half the calories of fried chips and none of the chemicals, they won’t slow you down.”

Jillian is also sharing her best tips for starting the year off right!
1) this new year have more fun with your fitness. staying healthy and in shape shouldn’t be about foods you have to cut or spending hours in a gym, getting healthy can still be fun! instead of working out in a gym, get outside and mix it up during the week. go for an outdoor hike, bike ride, try skiing or take your friends with you to the gym and  try a new class like my new Bodyshred!
2) it’s not about completely eliminating food groups or opting for famine in the new year. enjoy foods that taste great and are better for you. popchips are a perfect example and my favorite go to snack. they now come in 14 flavors so grab a different flavor for work, during the day,  when hunger strikes, or for a quick snack. grab your bag and enjoy!
3) it’s not just about the cardio training. many people believe if they run for an hour they are shedding the pounds. the reality is your body gets used to this type of activity. strength training is a great way boost your metabolism. if you do strength training four times a week, you can increase your metabolism by 6-7 percent! taking a fun weekend boot camp class gets you outside and meeting new people who are trying to accomplish the same goals. plus switching up your workout keeps it fun.
4) making wiser eating choices doesn’t mean you have to skip the fun traditions like taco night. when picking out your main dish options, always go with lean organic meat whenever possible. lean turkey and grilled chicken are great options. and if you love beef in your taco, just make it half lean grass fed organic beef and half turkey meat for a better option that still tastes great. having a burger night? instead of piling on the condiments, which are full of calories and high fructose corn syrup, try adding sliced avocado. they are full of healthy fats that are good for your body and skin! (then add a side of popchips instead of french fries.)
Keep it going through the Superbowl and on:
5) whether you watch the super bowl for the game or the commercials, everybody has fun on super bowl sunday. unfortunately, watch parties usually include nachos, fried chicken wings, or double stuffed potato skins. you can still keep the party fun and festive by swapping out the fried stuff for smarter alternatives. try serving up tortilla popchips with fresh, homemade salsa and guacamole instead of that artificial cheese dip.
6) attending a sporting event can be another challenge. there is something about the energy of a stadium on game day that makes people want to splurge on that ten dollar hot dog. if you’re going to a game – decide ahead of time what you are going to want and pack a snack. if it’s a cold beer that you crave, bring your own 100 calorie bag of popchips or some vegetables sticks with hummus. finding a balance will give you the freedom to enjoy the fun things, like cheering on your favorite team, without derailing your efforts.
7) when choosing what to drink on new years, on game day or just a fun night out, we tend to forget that drinking your calories still count and will quickly add up. you can have fun while staying on the right track by choosing a low-calorie beer or low-calorie liquor such as tequila with fresh limes.
8) when making dinner for your family, you don’t need to skip out on the fun and nibble on salad – just eat it first! start your meals with the healthiest thing on the table like a rainbow salad or steamed vegetables. that way when you get to the bad stuff you won’t need as much to feel satisfied. also, with better options on the table, your family is more likely to eat them and reap the benefits with you!
9) a healthy lifestyle does not mean cutting everything out. people rarely accomplish their goals when they feel they are being restricted. success can be as simple as developing savvy shopping habits. start buying better substitutes for your favorite fried snacks – like popchips instead of other high calorie chemical laden brands or drink flavored sparkling water instead of soda. these simple changes will make a big difference.

Now, go BRING THE FUN, enter to win,
and treat yourself.  Guilt free. =)

Hot Cocoa Recipe AND Red Cup Living GIVEAWAY!

This is my absolute favorite time of year!
For me the best part of the Holidays is being with the people I love.
That's why teaming-up with Red Cup Living made so much sense!

Red Cup Living is a company founded by a husband and wife team trying to
rekindle their neighborhood’s sense of community by holding more gatherings.
Read more about their story here: http://redcupliving.com/#red-cup-story

And when people gather, we eat, drink, and be happy. =)
Just look at the options they give you:

I immediately spotted these su-WEET mugs!
It seriously looks just like a red Solo cup with a handle but it's actually durable AND reusable.
How stinkin' cute is that?! I dig them.
They made me want hot cocoa.

This time I wanted my mom's hot cocoa.
She graciously texted me the recipe
(along with permission to share)
and I whipped up a batch to share with you.
So, here you go!
As soon as I put the first ingredients in the pan, a flood of memories rushed through my head:
the yellow leaves on the ground outside,
finally being tall enough to help my mom stir the cocoa,
scooping it out of the pan with an avocado-green Tupperware measuring cup,
drinking out of a mug I bought for my dad when I was in 2nd grade.
listening to my Grandma Scorse play the piano after dinner.

I love this stuff.
{print it here}

This is how we do it:
VARIATIONS:
1- If you prefer the taste of dark chocolate, reduce the second measurement of milk to 4 cups.
2- Add a 1/4 tsp of your favorite spice: cinnamon, pumpkin spice, or nutmeg.
3- I like mine extra creamy to I add whipped cream on top before I sprinkle with cinnamon.
I love this stuff.

You can add some extra holiday cheer with fun, reusable cups from Red Cup Living.
Four New Red Cup Living Products Available in Time for the Holidays!
They would be great stocking stuffers
