Happy Sunday: Be Still
When I went visiting teaching this month, I shared a message from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf about patience.
He said, “Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our
fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with
something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith;
bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are
delayed.
"Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!”
Be still, and know that I am God.

HAPPY SUNDAY: One Question
My family recently watched The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.
Not typically my first choice for a movie but in a house full of boys,
I'm learning to make the best of it when I'm out-numbered. =)
And I'm glad I did.
At one point in the movie, when things are dismal and the heroes feel despair,
their friend, Gandalf, gives them courage and hope with these words:
It made me stop and think.
What was he truly saying to them in their time of need?
What did they need to think and feel to change the outcome?
Will I be a creature of habit or a creator of change?
No matter how dark the night, no matter how hard the battle, no matter how long the road
you choose how you'll deal with it, how it will affect you, what it will teach you.

HAPPY SUNDAY: Roots & Wings
When I was in high school, we sang a song called "Roots and Wings" in choir.
This print reminded me of the song.
I love the message it relays: that those who have gone before us have made life possible.
It's up to us to ensure that those who follow will be equally blessed to know who they are
and who they can become.
