Shorty Style: Attempt #4

Ok, this one actually feels comfortable and doesn't take me 30+ minutes to do (unlike the all-over curls!)
After drying, I ratted up the back layers and then flat-iron-curled just the ends:
How does this one grab ya?

Shorty Style: Attempt #3

Ok, this one is better!
I found this on Pinterest:
and thought I would give it a try.

Again, I'm just using my flat iron to make these curls.
How am I doing?

Shorty Style: Attempt #2

So, I liked that Attempt #1 kept my hair out of my eyes but it still isn't enough. I still struggle with "Who the crap is that?!" every time I see a mirror.

Behold: Attempt #2!
It's kinda difficult to see but it's half-up in the back.
I used my flat iron (because it's the only kind  of 'curling iron' I own!) to curl the ends up.

My middle son said, "Hey Mom! You almost look back to normal!"
Ya, not quite, but I'm glad he thinks so.

What do YOU think?

Shorty Style: Attempt #1

So, now that I have such little hair to work with, I'm struggling to know what to do with it. At first I just dried it and called it good.
This is not working for me.
I'm having an identity crisis.
My hair hasn't been this short since I was 4 years old!
^^ {PROOF!}  ^^
Coincidentally, most of the comments I get on my new cut make me feel like a 4 year old: "That's adorable!" or "You look super cute!"
Grrrrr.

I'm not enjoying this attention.
SO, here's my first attempt at something other than "regular":
Yes, I know, it's very fancy. I added BOBBY PINS! WOO!
Seriously though, what do you think?

Suddenly Short

This is me:
. . . at least it used to be.

My hair has looked like this since high school {which is was L-O-N-G time ago!}.
I haven't done more than a quick trim on my hair for about 12 years.
A couple weeks ago I decided I was ready for a change.
I decided I wanted an A-line; just like this one:
{minus the bull nose ring}
I thought, "If I'm going to do this, I'm going to get it done right!"
I figured that I should go to a pricey salon where they totally know what they're doing. Makes sense, right? So I made my appointment, headed over, and was in awe of the decor in that place!

I paid TOP DOLLAR (meaning more than double what I've ever paid before) for their "most experienced" stylist. We determined I wanted 10 inches off. That wasn't quite enough to donate but I wasn't brave enough to go any shorter. So, she put my hair in a low pony tail and cut:

She chopped away at my locks while looking at the above picture I brought in for reference.
An hour later I walked out 16.25 inches shorter, and looking like this:
{Can you tell how happy I'm NOT?!!}
This, my friends, is a bob NOT an A-line.
I didn't know what else to do, so I cried all the way home. My 8-year-old told me I look like Uncle Mike (my little brother).
He's right.

This is totally new territory for me but I'm just gonna make the best of it!
Join me on my new journey to tame my mane now that I'm
SUDDENLY SHORT!
