My Sweet Feet Secret

I don't know about you but my feet take a beating!
I ask them to take me everywhere and they do; they never get a break.

To add to my poor feet's woes is the fact that I live in Phoenix,
where Mother Nature has perpetual PMS.
It's friggin' hot here!!
This was yesterday. It's September for cryin' out loud!

What makes it even worse is my slight shoe fetish; I own over 40 pairs.
gasp!
I especially love heels.
I {HEART} SHOES!!
But I also {heart} my feet. =)

I don't like that sweaty, sticky, smelly,
"my foot is stuck to the inside of my shoe and I can no longer walk like normal person without some serious effort" feeling.
But I'm not a nylons type of girl.
I can't see ^^these babies^^ looking any better on my feet than the do in the store.
 The ones on the right look especially special. HA!

So here's how I keep my feet su-WEET!
Baby Powder!

I just sprinkle it in my shoes,
shake it around a bit,
and VIOLA!
I'm ready to roll!
The powder keeps my feet dry no matter how sweaty the rest of me gets. It also completely eliminates that uncomfortable "stuck-to-the-shoe" feeling that happens after wearing them for 10 hours. I also use it when I wear flats; it's versatile like that. ;)
Yep, I {heart} my feet.
AND SHOES!!

Down East Basics

 I have at least a dozen tops from Down East that I adore
and always get complimented on.
Recently, I was invited to attend a blog mixer
at their Dana Park store in Mesa, AZ.

(Disclosure: this event was sponsored and I received a gift card at the event.)

What made it even more fun was that I got to bring a guest
so I grabbed one of my favorite people in the whole, entire world:
my big sister, Rebecca.

We have so much fun together!
We seriously act like a couple of teenagers
whenever we get together.
You'd never know we're a couple of middle-age mamas!
{BTW the top I'm wearing (on the right) is yet another fabulous Down East find!
In fact, so is my undershirt. I may be addicted.}
We mingled and shopped our little hearts out!
The lace top I'm wearing is a wardrobe staple.
(I have it in 5 different colors!)
It was a su-WEET night!

BONUS!!
There happens to be a Costa Vida next door!
I converted my sister to their tomatillo ranch dressing. =)
So in my expert opinion:
DOWNEAST @ DANA PARK ROCKS!!

DIY: Fabric Flower {LACE}

Hello Sweeties! Today I decided to divulge another SWEET secret!
This is a style of fabric flower hair clip that I've been making for years.
It get TONS of compliments and I'm forever trying to explain how it's done
{which doesn't always translate well with the use of hand gestures instead of photos :/}.
 SO, here it is:

I make these with ALL fabric types; you really can use whatever you have on-hand.
{I've even used  ribbon that I just cut into 2" lengths.}
SIMPLE = SWEET!

Down East Blog Mixer

I was lucky enough to be invited to a blog mixer at Down East Basics at the Arrowhead Towne Center. It was so nice! I love their clothes! They always have a sale going and the clearance racks are a must!
 It was so hard to choose what I wanted!
 I'm saving up for   ^^this^^   top! It is to die for!!
Maybe that's what Mr. Handsome needs to get me for my birthday.... ;)
I was happy to see my amazing friend Britany {from She Made It} there. We shopped our little hearts out!
Thank you, Down East! I'll be back! =)
